Job summary

Labcorp seeks a Phlebotomy Supervisor to lead a team of phlebotomists across Patient Service Centers and physician offices. The role includes managing patient flow, productivity, and staffing, with travel to additional sites as necessary.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED and 5+ years as a phlebotomist; supervision experience is preferred. Monday–Friday schedule with potential overtime and load balancing responsibilities are part of the role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• 5+ years experience as a phlebotomist.
• 1+ year supervising direct reports (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Supervise a team of phlebotomists in Patient Service Centers and/or physician offices.
• Manage patient flow, wait times, inventory, and information logs.
• Monitor monthly productivity and report deviations.
• Coordinate phlebotomists' schedules.
• Perform payroll, monthly schedules and performance appraisals.
• Partner with Human Resources on employee relations and disciplinary actions.
• Hire and train phlebotomists to fill open positions.
• Communicate with patients, clinical staff, sales, logistics and management.
• Provide exceptional customer service to patients and clients.
• Assist in setting up new Patient Service Centers or Client Offices.
• Resolve patient or client issues promptly.
• Perform, collect and prepare specimens; travel to additional sites as needed.

Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomy Supervisor.

Work Schedule:

Monday – Friday 8am-5pm, additional days and hours may be required

Job Responsibilities

• Supervise a team of (+25) phlebotomists working in Patient Service Centers and/or physician's offices
• Manage patient flow, wait times, and inventory levels and information logs
• Monitor monthly productivity and report any deviations as necessary
• Coordinate phlebotomists' schedules through resourceful and creative thinking
• Perform operational duties such as payroll, monthly schedules and performance appraisals
• Partner with Human Resources regarding employee relations issues and disciplinary actions
• Hire and train phlebotomists to fill any open positions
• Communicate effectively to internal and external customers including patients, client office staff, sales team, logistics and senior management
• Provide exceptional customer service to all patients and clients
• Assist in the set-up of new Patient Service Centers or Client Offices
• Provide resolution of any patient or client issues
• Perform, collect and prepare specimens when needed
• Travel to additional sites as necessary

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent
• 5 years or more experience as a phlebotomist

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 year or more as a supervisor or leader of direct reports

Additional Job Standards

• Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision
• Reliable transportation and clean driving record if applicable
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• Be at least 21 years’ old
• Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record
