Job description

Position Summary

This position may be located within a Hospital Facility, Patient Service Center (PSC), In‑Office Phlebotomy (IOP), or Mobile Diagnostic Services (MDS) and may require coverage at multiple locations. The role involves the collection and receipt of biological specimens, proper entry into the company’s computer system, preparation of samples for analytical testing, distribution to the analytical area, and performing specified analytical testing as assigned. The phlebotomist follows guidelines of the Code of Conduct and performs all functions in accordance with established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, and applicable professional standards.

Responsibilities

• Collect and receive biological specimens and record them accurately in the computer system.
• Prepare specimens for analytical testing and distribute them to the appropriate analytical areas.
• Perform specified analytical testing as assigned.
• Adhere to the Code of Conduct and all relevant policies, procedures, regulatory, and accreditation requirements.
• Provide coverage at multiple locations, including mobile phlebotomy and in‑office sites, with flexible hours and availability for on‑call duties, weekends, holidays, and overtime.

Minimum Qualifications

• Age 18 or older.
• High School diploma or equivalent; may be required depending on state regulations.
• Completion of a phlebotomy program or equivalent experience.
• Basic knowledge of department resource materials.
• Required DHS fingerprinting certification or ability to obtain it.
• Valid state driver’s license for employment state; eligibility for company auto insurance.
• Ability to travel and work flexible hours across multiple sites; readiness to cover mobile and in‑office phlebotomy locations with minimal notice.
• Availability for on‑call duties, weekends, evenings, and early mornings.
• Completion of career‑ladder II‑IV requirements for progression.

Preferred Qualifications
