Job summary

Laboratory Sciences of Arizona is seeking a Phlebotomist to collect and process specimens across multiple sites, including mobile labs. You will enter data into the LIS, prepare samples for testing, and may perform assigned analytical tasks.

Flexibility to travel and work varied shifts is required, with a focus on accuracy and patient safety. Minimum qualifications include 1–2 years phlebotomy experience, a valid state driver’s license, and a phlebotomy program or equivalent.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required; fingerprint background check may be needed.
• Phlebotomy program or relevant experience completed.
• Phlebotomy certification as defined by state regulations may be required.
• Bilingual Spanish/English preferred, depending on location.

Responsibilities

• Collect and receive biological specimens in various settings.
• Enter specimens into the laboratory information system accurately.
• Prepare samples for analytical testing and distribute to appropriate areas.
• Perform specified analytical testing as assigned and follow conduct guidelines.
• Work across hospital facilities, PSCs, IOPs or mobile labs as needed.

This position may be responsible to provide coverage at multiple locations. This position is responsible for the collection and receipt of biological specimens into the department, their proper entry into the company’s computer system, the preparation of samples for analytical testing and/or the distribution of these specimens to the proper analytical area. This includes responsibility for pre and post aspects of analytical testing. This position will also perform specified analytical testing as assigned. Follows the guidelines of the Code of Conduct.Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSMinimum age requirement of 18.High School diploma or equivalent may be required dependent on state regulatory requirements.Basic knowledge of department resource materials.Completion of a phlebotomy program or phlebotomy experience.Phlebotomy certification as defined by state regulations.Position may require DHS Fingerprinting Certification or the ability to obtain fingerprint certification.Dependent on department/location, candidate must possess a valid state driver's license in the state of employment and be eligible for coverage under the company auto insurance policy.Float positions require travel and flexible hours required to work multiple locations and required to cover at mobile phlebotomy facilities/in-office phlebotomy locations with minimal notice. Must be flexible and available based on staffing requirements, weekends, holidays and overtime.
