Job summary

Interpath Laboratory is seeking a friendly Phlebotomist/Processor to join our team in Idaho. You will perform venipuncture, collect specimens, manage data accurately, and support both patients and staff in a fast-paced clinic environment.

The role requires strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to work across multiple sites. A high school diploma and phlebotomy training or experience are required. Benefits include health coverage, retirement plan, and paid time off.

Qualifications

  • Ability to cover shifts at different sites as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Providing excellent customer service, answering phones, and monitoring for instrumentation alarms.
  • Performing venipuncture for blood collection and obtaining additional specimen types as required.
  • Verifying specimen information, performing data entry, and properly identifying patient information.
  • Receiving, processing, and packaging samples for referral labs while maintaining specimen integrity.
  • Following safety protocols, HIPAA policies, Medicare rules, and participating in quality assurance.
  • Covering work shifts at different sites as needed to ensure smooth operations.

Job description

Pay

Pay: $17.00 - $23.02 Per Hour DOE

Schedule

Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4:30pm, with a 1-hour lunch

Responsibilities
  • Administrative duties: Providing excellent customer service, answering phones, and monitoring for instrumentation alarms.
  • Technical responsibilities: Performing venipuncture for blood collection, obtaining additional specimen types as required, and preparing all samples for lab testing and screening.
  • Accurate data management: Verifying specimen information, performing data entry, and properly identifying patient information.
  • Specimen handling: Receiving, processing, and packaging samples for referral labs while maintaining specimen integrity.
  • Compliance: Following safety protocols, HIPAA policies, Medicare rules, and participating in quality assurance.
  • Flexibility: Covering work shifts at different sites as needed to ensure smooth operations.

Reliability: Maintaining consistent, punctual, and reliable attendance to ensure continuity of operations and support for our team and patients.

Education & Certification

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience
  • Prior professional phlebotomy experience or completion of a phlebotomy training program is required.

Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally and compassionately with patients and team members.

Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.

Excellent organizational and time-management skills; able to handle multiple tasks efficiently.

Physical Requirements
  • Laboratory setting with automated equipment emitting ambient sounds.
  • High level of staff interaction in close quarters; must hear alarms to ensure timely response to safety needs.
  • Regular handling of potentially infectious samples, with required protective gear (lab coat, gloves, goggles, face shield).
  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, kneel, crawl, twist, and walk on uneven surfaces throughout the day.
  • Frequent bending, extended standing, and lifting up to 30 pounds.Flexibility to work extended hours or overtime as needed.
OSHA Category

This role involves exposure to blood, body fluids, and/or tissues, with Hepatitis-B vaccination offered to all performing these duties.
