Job summary

Interpath Laboratory is seeking a Phlebotomist/Processor to join our team across three Idaho locations. This full-time role requires a minimum of one year of professional phlebotomy experience and involves pediatric specimen handling, data entry, and maintaining specimen integrity.

Starting pay is $19 per hour with a schedule Monday–Friday; benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with match, PTO, and in-house testing. Driver’s license and strong communication are required.

• Experience in a clinical laboratory, physician office, hospital, or healthcare setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service to patients and families; answer phones; monitor instrumentation alarms.
• Perform venipuncture for blood collection and obtain additional specimen types as required; focus on pediatric patients.
• Verify specimen information, perform data entry, and correctly identify patient information.
• Receive, process, and package samples for referral labs; maintain specimen integrity.
• Follow safety protocols, HIPAA policies, Medicare rules; participate in quality assurance activities.
• Support clinic operations and assist with coverage to ensure smooth day-to-day workflow.

Job description

Interpath Laboratory is looking for a Phlebotomist/Processor to join our team! We are seeking an experienced phlebotomist with at least 1 year of professional phlebotomy experience to support a new embedded client site. This full-time position will require the phlebotomist to work across 3 locations, with 2 days at one site, 2 days at a second site, and 1 day at a third site. The ideal candidate is comfortable working across multiple locations and adapting to the needs of different clinic environments.

Pay: Starting at $19 per hour, with flexibility based on experience

Schedule: Full-time, Monday - Friday (days and hours at each location will be determined by clinic hours)

In this role, you will be responsible for:

• Administrative duties: Providing excellent customer service to patients and families, answering phones, and monitoring for instrumentation alarms.
• Technical responsibilities: Performing venipuncture for blood collection, obtaining additional specimen types as required, and preparing all samples for lab testing and screening, with a focus on pediatric patients.
• Accurate data management: Verifying specimen information, performing data entry, and properly identifying patient information.
• Specimen handling: Receiving, processing, and packaging samples for referral labs while maintaining specimen integrity.
• Compliance: Following safety protocols, HIPAA policies, Medicare rules, and participating in quality assurance activities.
• Flexibility: Supporting clinic operations and assisting with coverage as needed to ensure smooth day-to-day workflow.

Reliability: Maintaining consistent, punctual, and reliable attendance to ensure continuity of operations and support for our team and patients.

Education & Certification:

High school diploma or equivalent required

Experience:

• At least 1 year of professional phlebotomy experience required
• Experience working in a clinical laboratory, physician office, hospital, or other healthcare setting preferred
• Experience working with a variety of patient populations preferred

Licensing & Driving Requirements

• Valid, unrestricted driver’s license
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally and compassionately with pediatric patients and their families
• Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy
• Highly organized and capable of managing multiple responsibilities effectively

Physical Requirements

• Laboratory setting with automated equipment emitting ambient sounds.
• High level of staff interaction in close quarters; must hear alarms to ensure timely response to safety needs.
• Regular handling of potentially infectious samples, with required protective gear (lab coat, gloves, goggles, face shield).
• Ability to sit, stand, bend, kneel, crawl, twist, and walk on uneven surfaces throughout the day.
• Frequent bending, extended standing, and lifting up to 30 pounds.
• Flexibility to work extended hours or overtime as needed.

OSHA Category: This role involves exposure to blood, body fluids, and/or tissues, with Hepatitis-B vaccination offered to all performing these duties.
