Job summary

The phlebotomist will handle test requisitions, processing, and timely communication with techs, physicians, and patients. Experience preferred, high school diploma required, on-the-job training provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma with on-the-job training in a clinical laboratory.
• One year experience preferred.
• Willing to perform phlebotomy, EKGs, and specimen processing.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy and capillary puncture procedures for blood specimens.
• Process and handle specimens according to lab protocol and order tests for outpatients.
• Inform on stat and urgent tests, maintain neat collection areas, and communicate with patients and staff.
