Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Phlebotomist I for the lab. This PRN - as needed role supports Atrium Health Floyd Polk Medical Center with phlebotomy duties in a high-volume lab setting. Part-time status requires attention to safety, accuracy, and timely specimen handling.

The position involves receiving orders, collecting blood from patients, and logging specimens into the lab system while following all regulations. Prior phlebotomy experience and a valid phlebotomy program are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Phlebotomy program preferred.
• Prior phlebotomist experience preferred.
• Certified phlebotomist preferred.

The Phlebotomist I is responsible for receiving orders for laboratory testing from the hospital computer system, collecting blood from patients of any age or status, and logging specimens into the laboratory computer system. This individual follows state, OSHA and other agency regulations. The Phlebotomist performs special procedures and assists the lab aide when necessary.

Job Qualifications:
Education:

High school diploma or GED from an accredited institute required
Completion of a phlebotomy program of study preferred
Experience:
Prior experience as a Phlebotomist preferred

Licensure:
Certified as a Phlebotomist from a nationally recognized institute preferred
