Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Phlebotomist I for the Lab at Atrium Health Floyd Polk Medical Center. High school diploma or GED is required; a phlebotomy program is preferred, and prior phlebotomy experience is advantageous. Certification as a Phlebotomist is preferred.

The Phlebotomist I is responsible for receiving orders for laboratory testing from the hospital computer system, collecting blood from patients of any age or status, and logging specimens into the laboratory computer system. This individual follows state, OSHA and other agency regulations. The Phlebotomist performs special procedures and assists the lab aide when necessary.

Job Qualifications

Education

High school diploma or GED from an accredited institute required

Completion of a phlebotomy program of study preferred

Experience

Prior experience as a Phlebotomist preferred

Licensure

Certified as a Phlebotomist from a nationally recognized institute preferred
