Qualifications

• Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and attention to detail.
• Ability to self-direct and exercise independent judgment in situations requiring follow-up with clinical staff and/or other areas.

Responsibilities

• Greet patient and verify patient identity; explain blood draw procedure.
• Prepare patient for drawing blood and alleviate concerns.
• Gather supplies and select equipment meeting patient needs.
• Accurately label, prepare, and handle all specimens per policy.
• Perform accurate data entry of patient information and specimens.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment; decontaminate equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
