Qualifications

• Must hold a valid California phlebotomy license/certification.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 1 year of related phlebotomy experience.
• Copy of PSV from licensing board if required.
• Maintain current required certifications (e.g., BLS) and immunization records as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Collect blood specimens via venipuncture and capillary methods.
• Verify patient identity and proper specimen labeling.
• Explain procedures and address patient concerns before collection.
• Process, store, and transport specimens per protocols.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patients and specimens.
• Follow infection control and safety standards; monitor for adverse reactions.
• Sanitize equipment and work areas after procedures.
• Collaborate with lab staff and clinicians for timely processing.
• Provide compassionate, professional patient care throughout collection.
