Job summary

North Mississippi Health Services in Tupelo, MS, is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our laboratory team. The role involves collecting venipuncture and capillary blood samples, transporting specimens and supplies, and ensuring proper labeling and processing in accordance with regulatory standards.

You will work with nursing staff and physicians, maintain equipment and LIS documentation, and support quality control and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Proficient computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel); required
• Good organizational and communication (written and verbal) skills; required
• Knowledge of and appropriate handling of biohazardous specimens; required
• Strong interpersonal skills; required
• Prioritize and organize specimen procurement requests

Responsibilities

• Accurately reports point of care testing results in timely manner.
• Accurately performs point of care quality control.
• Accurately documents all necessary information on patient specimen tubes/containers and in Laboratory Information System (LIS).
• Assist with maintaining inventory related to specimen processing.
