Job summary

Effinghamschools is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our laboratory team in Springfield, GA. Under direction of Laboratory Director, you will perform blood draws, specimen handling, labeling, and data entry in a fast-paced environment.

You will ensure patient identification, maintain confidentiality, adhere to safety standards, and communicate with medical staff as part of multidisciplinary care. A phlebotomy program certification and 6 months experience preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Adhere to infection control and safety standards.
• Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws for all ages.
• Verify patient identification and match with order labels.
• Label all specimens accurately and transport to the lab.
• Enter patient data and test orders into the computer.
• Prepare supplies and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
• Assist lab technicians as needed and distribute specimens for testing.
