Job summary

Dignity Health - Marian Regional Medical Center in Santa Maria, CA, is seeking a Phlebotomist to collect blood and other specimens for diagnostic testing, ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout the procedure.

You will perform venipunctures, label and prepare specimens accurately, and enter orders in the LIS. The role requires adherence to CLSI guidelines, attention to detail, and strong interpersonal skills to support accurate diagnoses and patient satisfaction.

Qualifications

• 2 years experience as CPT or Lab Assistant required.
• Phlebotomist: CA required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Collect blood and other specimens for diagnostic testing following CLSI guidelines.
• Explain procedures to patients and ensure comfort and safety.
• Accurately label specimens and prepare them for laboratory analysis.
• Enter lab orders in the laboratory computer systems and manage collection batches.
• Ensure complete and accurate patient and specimen identification and follow billing processes.
• Promote professional interactions to support patient satisfaction.
