Job summary

UNC Health Care in Eden, NC seeks a per diem Phlebotomist to perform phlebotomy procedures and point-of-care testing in support of clinical activities. The role is onsite with a variable schedule and a 4 hour weekly expectation.

Requirements include 1 year of phlebotomy experience or completion of a phlebotomy program. No licensure is required. The position offers a pay range of $16.51–$23.62 per hour, with offers based on experience and equity.

Qualifications

• One year of phlebotomy experience required, or graduation from a phlebotomy program with no prior experience required.

Responsibilities

• Consults with healthcare providers and patients regarding phlebotomy service issues.
• Ensures quality and accuracy of work.
• Investigates problems with equipment, patient results, specimens and/or workflow.
• May participate on teams or perform special projects/assignments.
• May conduct teaching and training of new employees, phlebotomy students and/or other healthcare providers.
• Review test results to ensure accuracy of reporting and timely correction of errors.
• Performs phlebotomy procedures, quality control and equipment maintenance in the laboratory.
• Monitors daily operation of laboratory work area.
