Job summary

UNC Health in Chapel Hill, NC is seeking a phlebotomy technician to support clinical activities across the Healthcare System. You will perform a variety of phlebotomy procedures and patient point-of-care testing, contributing to accurate results and timely reporting.

Qualifications include at least one year of phlebotomy experience, or graduation from a phlebotomy program with no prior experience. This is a full-time, onsite role with standard hours and a competitive hourly wage.

Qualifications

• One year of phlebotomy experience is required, unless you are a phlebotomy program graduate.
• No licensure or certification required.

Responsibilities

• Consults/confers with healthcare providers/patients regarding phlebotomy service issues.
• Ensures quality and accuracy of work.
• Investigates problems with equipment, patient results, specimens and/or workflow.
• May participate on teams or perform special projects/assignments.
• May perform teaching and training of new employees, phlebotomy students and/or other healthcare providers.
• May review test results to ensure accuracy of reporting and timely correction of errors or report results to healthcare providers.
• Performs phlebotomy procedures, quality control and equipment maintenance in the appropriate laboratory.
• Responsible for and/or ensures completion of daily work and assigned tasks. Monitors daily operation of laboratory work area.
