Job summary

Virtua Health in Burlington, NJ is seeking a part-time Phlebotomist for a per diem role in a fast-paced laboratory. You will adhere to lab procedures, collect and process patient specimens, and ensure accurate sample labeling and handling.

Responsibilities include phlebotomy, specimen processing, front loading on instruments, and providing excellent customer service while supporting registration and reporting tasks. A high school diploma and formal phlebotomy training are required.

Job Information:

Adhere to correct policy and procedures in carrying out routine tasks. Collects and processes patient specimens for testing in adherence with laboratory protocols. Perform laboratory tests including pre- and post-analytic phases. Prepare samples/specimens for producing accurate and reliable results by following collection procedure.

Position Responsibilities:

• Specimen verification, processing, shipment and front loading on instruments for testing
• Performs pre-analytical processes including registration, and ordering
• Provides outstanding customer service by demonstrating effective and appropriate communication and interpersonal skills.
• Performs clerical functions including but not limited to telephone communication, report generation and faxing

Required Experience:

• Previous customer service experience with demonstrated ability to perform detailed clerical work.
• Previous experience working as a Phlebotomist in a medical setting preferred.
• Good interpersonal and time management skills.

Required Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Training / Certification / Licensure:

• Formal phlebotomy training required.
• ASCP, NHA or AMT certification preferred.

Hourly Rate: $25.00
