UNC Health in Chapel Hill, NC is seeking a part-time/per diem phlebotomist to perform phlebotomy procedures and patient point-of-care testing across the healthcare system.

Responsibilities include consulting with providers and patients, ensuring accuracy, resolving workflow issues, and training staff as needed. Work is onsite with a varied daily schedule and a 10-hour weekly commitment.

Formación

• One year of phlebotomy experience required, or graduation from a phlebotomy program.
• None required as long as other position qualifications are met.
• No licensure or certification required.

Responsabilidades

• Consults/confers with healthcare providers/patients regarding patient care as it relates to phlebotomy service issues.
• Ensures quality and accuracy of work.
• Investigates problems with equipment, patient results, specimens and/or workflow.
• May participate on teams or perform special projects/assignments.
• May perform teaching and training of new employees, phlebotomy students and/or other healthcare providers.
• May review test results to ensure accuracy of reporting and timely correction of errors or report results to healthcare providers.
• Performs phlebotomy procedures, quality control and equipment maintenance in the appropriate laboratory.
• Responsible for and/or ensures completion of daily work and assigned tasks. Monitors daily operation of laboratory work area.
