Charlotte Hungerford Hospital is a 122-bed, general acute care community hospital located in Torrington, Connecticut, serving as a regional healthcare resource for the 100,000 residents of Litchfield County and Northwest Connecticut. Duties:

• Responsible for collecting venous and capillary blood specimens from patients in a safe and accurate manner according to established lab policies and practices.
• Maintain inventory, schedule dispatch, and handle Epic registration.
• Demonstrate H3W behaviors with a focus on excellent patient service, patience, and quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent, or successful completion of a Phlebotomy program.
• At least 1 year of phlebotomy experience.
• Knowledge of venipuncture techniques.
• Excellent customer service skills with a professional attitude.
• Good keyboarding skills and ability to learn laboratory applications and HHC computer systems.
• Continuous improvement mindset.
• Ability to handle different patient populations, including difficult patients.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to operate required lab equipment, including pneumatic tube systems.
