Labcorp in North Bergen, NJ is seeking a Phlebotomist for a casual/per diem role with hours as needed, including early mornings and rotating Saturdays. You will perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary methods for all ages, and handle specimen processing and patient care with a focus on accuracy and service.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma (GED), phlebotomy certification or formal training, and strong communication skills.

• Phlebotomy certification or completed training program or 3 months+ experience as a phlebotomist.
• Proven track record of providing exceptional customer service.
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
• Reliable transportation.
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
• Able to pass a color blindness test.

• Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner.
• Process billing information and collect payments as necessary.
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis.
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
• Provide superior customer service to all patients.
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary.
• Travel to additional sites when needed.

Work Schedule

This is a casual/per diem position, hours will be as needed. Start and end times will vary on from Monday- Friday 7:30am- 3:30 and rotating Saturdays 6:30am - 11:00am.

Job Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent
• Phlebotomy certification or completed training program or 3 months or more experience as a phlebotomist

Preferred Qualifications

• 6 months or more of phlebotomy experience

Additional Job Standards

• In lieu of work experience, a Phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency
• Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision
• Reliable transportation
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test

Pay Range

$17.75-24 per hour. Phlebotomist’s may be eligible for participation in the PST Incentive Plan, which pays a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics.

Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan.

Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.
