Job description

Job Title: Phlebotomist Patient Services Representative

Location: Torrance, CA

Duration: 3-month Contract

Work Type: Onsite

Pay Range: $24.09 - $29.69

Shift/Time Zone: Mon-Fri 8 am - 5 pm

Job Description:
  1. The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) is the face of our company to patients, providing quality service during health routines or health decisions.
  2. Draws quality blood samples and prepares specimens for lab testing following established procedures.
  3. Creates a trusting environment by explaining procedures clearly and drawing blood skillfully, safely, and accurately.
  4. Demonstrates leadership behaviors, focusing on process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy of patient information.
  5. Assignments may include working in a doctor's office, patient service center, or as needed.
  6. Performs daily activities accurately under supervision, maintaining a safe, professional environment.
  7. Handles forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing per protocols.
  8. Verifies patient demographic info and labels tubes in the presence of the patient.
  9. Maintains accurate records and documentation.
  10. Promotes a positive image and organizational commitment to patients, clients, and staff.
Job Requirements:
  1. Ability to deliver error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
  2. Works independently with minimal supervision.
  3. Excellent pediatric and geriatric phlebotomy skills.
  4. Flexible availability, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
  5. Adherence to policies, dress code, safety, and principles of excellence.
  6. Good judgment and decision-making skills based on established procedures.
  7. Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record if applicable.
  8. Willingness to travel and work flexible hours across multiple locations.
  9. Capable of handling multiple priorities in high-volume settings.
  10. Superior customer focus with open communication and adaptability to change.
Education & Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in CA, NV, WA.
  • At least three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
  • Minimum 2 years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
  • Customer service experience and keyboard/data entry skills preferred.
Additional Details:

Work hours: M-F 8 am-5 pm, rotating Saturday.
