Job Description

• The Phlebotomist Patient Services Representative (PSR II) represents the face of our company to patients, whether as part of their health routine or for insights into health decisions.
• The PSR II draws quality blood samples and prepares specimens for lab testing, following established practices and procedures.
• Creates an atmosphere of trust and confidence with patients, explaining procedures and drawing blood in a skillful, safe, and accurate manner.
• Demonstrates leadership behaviors, focusing on process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy of patient information.
• Assignments may include doctor's offices, patient service centers, or other locations as needed.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform daily activities accurately and on time under supervision.
• Maintain a safe and professional environment.
• Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties confidently, following established practices.
• Verify patient demographic information, including signatures post-venipuncture, and ensure proper labeling.
• Maintain required records and documentation.
• Promote a positive image and demonstrate organizational commitment.

Job Requirements

• Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
• Work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.
• Adherence to policies, procedures, and safety standards.
• Good judgment and decision-making skills.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and clean driving record if applicable.
• Willingness to travel and work at multiple locations with short notice.
• Handle multiple priorities effectively.
• Superior customer focus and communication skills.
• Training locations may vary.

Required Education

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical training such as medical assistant or paramedic preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.

Work Experience

• Minimum three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
• Preferred two years in a Patient Service Center environment.
• Customer service experience in retail or service sectors is a plus.
• Keyboard/data entry skills.
