Job summary

Labcorp in Plano, TX is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our patient service center team. You will perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all ages, collect specimens for various tests, and provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.

This role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, 1+ years phlebotomy experience, and the ability to work Monday–Friday with potential overtime.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 or more years' phlebotomy experience working in a clinical / hospital environment
• 1 or more years' experience assisting all patient groups (pediatric - geriatric)
• Current or prior LabCorp experience
• In lieu of work experience, a phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed
• Able to work in a fast paced / high volume work environment
• Exceptional customer service
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
• Process billing information and collect payments when required
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs
• Provide superior customer service to all patients
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary
• Travel to additional sites when needed
