Job summary

Labcorp in West Orange, NJ is hiring a Phlebotomist to join our patient-focused team. You will perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups, collect specimens for drug screens and tests, and ensure accurate data entry and patient service.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 1 year or more phlebotomy experience (2+ preferred) and a certification or completed training from an accredited agency. Strong communication and reliability are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• 1 year or more experience as a phlebotomist.
• Phlebotomy certification or accredited training from an approved program.
• Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
• Reliable transportation; flexibility to work overtime as needed.
• Able to pass a standardized color vision test.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
• Process billing information and collect payments as necessary
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs
• Provide superior customer service to all patients
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary
• Travel to additional sites when needed
