Job summary

Qualifications

• Demonstrates eligibility for employment in the U.S.
• Graduate of a laboratory phlebotomist training program preferred.
• High School Education or equivalent.
• Minimum of 100 blood draws; may be through clinical rotation.
• BLS required, or obtained within 30 days of hire date.
• Experience in routine laboratory tasks including specimen collection and processing.
• Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the field.
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English; additional languages preferred.
• Ability to understand written and oral instructions.
• Willingness to participate in goal-setting and ongoing education.
• Must be computer literate with basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform specimen collection, processing and results reporting.
• Participate in departmental performance improvement and supply inventory processes.
• Maintain compliance with CLIA, TDH and accreditation standards; protect patient privacy.
• Communicate effectively with peers, medical staff, patients, families and visitors; support teamwork.
