Job summary

Medical City Dallas is seeking a Phlebotomist to perform blood collection and related clerical tasks in a fast-paced hospital setting.

You will greet patients, collect specimens by finger sticks, heel sticks, or venipuncture, label samples accurately, and enter data into the laboratory information system. Strong attention to detail is essential.

This role requires at least 6 months of phlebotomy experience or completion of a clinical phlebotomy program, and BLS within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• HR diploma or GED required
• Minimum 6 months phlebotomy experience required or Certification through a clinical phlebotomy program may be considered in lieu of experience
• Acute care hospital experience is strongly preferred
• Skilled phlebotomy technique; BLS within30 days of hire

Responsibilities

• You will greet patients and instruct them in proper specimen collection methods.
• You will draw blood specimens from patients by using finger sticks, heelsticks,or venipunctures and collect other specimens asrequired.
• You will label specimens for identification purposes accurately and enter specimen data into the computer.
• You will prepare samples for microbiology, hematology, serology, blood bank, and urinalysis departments
• You willassistwith clerical duties by answering telephone calls.
