Job summary

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is seeking a Phlebotomist for the Outpatient Department in the Greater Columbus area, with assignments at Outpatient Care Upper Arlington and other sites. The role involves specimen collection, labeling, processing and registration duties to support timely laboratory testing.

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• At least 1 year of relevant experience is required.
• Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant certification is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and capillary puncture for specimen collection.
• Label and process specimens.
• Dispatch specimens to testing locations and train others in collection techniques.
• Gather patient information for registration and accessioning of procedures.
• May perform point-of-care testing and ensure accuracy of results and QC.
