Location: AdventHealth Sports Med & Rehab
Schedule: Per Diem, Day shift
Pay Range: $16.14 - $24.21 per hour

About the Role

The Laboratory Assistant II performs laboratory support procedures, including phlebotomy and specimen processing, in clinical and anatomical pathology areas. Candidates must have at least six months of experience at Florida Hospital and meet continuing education requirements. The role involves practical knowledge of laboratory procedures, customer service, and maintaining respectful relationships.

Responsibilities
  • Perform pre-analytical activities such as equipment maintenance, blood collection, specimen processing, and cleaning.
  • Maintain organized workspaces and proper documentation.
  • Support post-analytical activities and general department support, including answering phones and clerical duties.
  • Assist with special projects and training new staff or students as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 1 year of phlebotomy lab experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of Blood Collection or Medical Assistant program.
  • Experience in a hospital laboratory setting.
  • National certification in blood collection (preferred).
  • Lab Assistant certification.
