Job summary

Centers Laboratory of New Jersey in Perth Amboy, NJ is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our laboratory team. The role requires collecting blood samples with strict safety procedures and accurate labeling.

Candidates must have over 3 years of nursing home phlebotomy experience, be able to start at 4 am, and have reliable transportation. A high school diploma and phlebotomy certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy Technician certificate preferred; hospital or major lab training program acceptable if no certificate.
• Understanding of standard blood drawing practices.

Responsibilities

• Identify patients accurately and prepare them for venipuncture.
• Collect blood using proper techniques and equipment.
• Label tubes correctly and ensure proper order of draw.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and safety practices.
• Monitor patient for reactions and provide aftercare instructions.
• Ensure a clean, sanitary work space and proper disposal of sharps.
