Top Echelon LLC in Largo, FL seeks a Phlebotomist for a 3-month contract with potential to convert to permanent. Responsibilities include blood draws and specimen handling.

Schedule: Mon–Fri, 7am–3:30pm. Duties include venipuncture, labeling, data entry, and maintaining specimen quality in accordance with OSHA.

Minimum: valid phlebotomy certification, 6 months' venipuncture experience in a lab or hospital, and a high school diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed.
• Minimum 6 months' venipuncture experience in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Properly explains the venipuncture process and other specimen collection as required.
• Demonstrate technique using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
• Fully understand all physician orders.
• Match requisition forms to specimen tubes, label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required.
• Check test requisitions or computer label against script to ensure accuracy.
• Package specimens for transport and store samples according to required temperatures.
