Htprof in Largo, FL is seeking a contract Phlebotomist to assist with blood collection, labeling, and specimen handling. The role emphasizes accuracy, OSHA compliance, and teamwork in a fast-paced lab environment.

The successful candidate will have a state phlebotomy certification and at least 6 months of venipuncture experience, plus proficiency in Microsoft Office. This is a 3-month project with potential for permanent conversion.

Qualifications

• Certification required by the state.
• Minimum 6 months' venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explains venipuncture process clearly and courteously to patients.
• Demonstrate technique using straight and butterfly needles.
• Understands physicians' orders and matches requisitions to specimens.
• Packages specimens for transport and stores them per protocol to maintain integrity.
