Job summary

Via Linda Behavioral Hospital seeks a Phlebotomist Mental Health Technician (PMHT) to work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, providing clerical and patient care in psychiatric and substance use treatment. The PMHT collects, prepares, and ships specimens and supports education groups.

PRN/per diem, in-office position within a modern 120-bed behavioral health facility serving teens to older adults in Scottsdale and the greater Phoenix area.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: Graduation from a Phlebotomy program.
• Preferred Education: Associates degree in a behavioral health related field (Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Behavioral Sciences, etc.).
• Minimum Experience: 1 year of Phlebotomy.
• Preferred Experience: 1-year experience in a behavioral health inpatient setting.
• Required Certification/ License: Current Basic Life Support/CPR certification.
• Preferred Certification/ License: Certified Phlebotomist, Medical Assistant and/or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).

Responsibilities

• Provide clerical and patient care activities in the treatment and care of patients with psychiatric and substance abuse conditions.
• Collect, prepare, and ship patient specimens.
• Mentor other Mental Health Technicians or serve as patient advocate as appropriate.
• Actively participates as a member of the treatment team and performs other duties as assigned.
