Job summary

HonorHealth Medical Group in Scottsdale, AZ is seeking a PRN Laboratory Technician with phlebotomy duties to join our LAB Microbiology team.

Responsibilities include retrieving specimens, preparing samples for analysis, instrument verification, maintaining inventory, assisting in training staff and following hospital policies. This role offers flexible day/night hours and a supportive team focused on accuracy and patient care.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
2–5 years phlebotomy/CLA experience preferred.
AMT COLT Certification or equivalent preferred or required for some roles.

Responsibilities

Retrieves specimens from pneumatic tube system and initiates processing.
Prepares samples for analysis by manual or automated methods.
Distributes to work areas and loads specimens on designated instruments.
Performs department specific duties to assist tech (e.g. blood bank, micro).
Prepares specimens for reference testing including requisition, packaging, storage, and courier notification.
Performs instrument verification, preventative maintenance and troubleshooting.
Answers telephone and follows through with requests.
Maintains inventory and stock supplies.
Reviews laboratory policies and procedures.
Assists in training new staff and students.
Performs phlebotomy as assigned.
