Job summary

Via Linda Behavioral Hospital, a behavioral health provider serving Scottsdale and the Phoenix area, seeks a Phlebotomist Mental Health Technician (PMHT) for PRN/Per Diem coverage. Under RN supervision, you will perform clerical tasks and direct patient care for individuals with psychiatric and substance use concerns.

Responsibilities include collecting and shipping specimens, aiding in education/activity groups, and supporting the treatment team.

Qualifications

Graduation from a Phlebotomy program is required.
Associates degree in a behavioral health-related field is preferred.
Minimum 1 year of Phlebotomy experience.
Preferred: 1 year in a behavioral health inpatient setting.
Current Basic Life Support/CPR certification required.
Preferred: Certified Phlebotomist, Medical Assistant and/or CNA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Provides clerical and patient care activities in the treatment and care of patients with psychiatric and substance use conditions.
Collects, prepares, and ships patient specimens accurately and timely.
Manages behavioral problems and facilitates education and activity groups as directed.
May serve as a mentor to other Mental Health Technicians based on experience or tenure.
May serve as patient advocate or milieu specialist depending on education and tenure.
