Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Laboratory Manager, the Phlebotomist performs venipuncture for the collection of specimens for laboratory analysis. After additional training and experience, will also perform arterial and capillary puncture for specimen collection. Must be able to perform specimen collection for patients of all ages (neonates, infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics). Provide backup for certain other laboratory personnel, such as clerk/courier, glassware washer, and computer operator. All duties are completed by utilizing the Five Pillars (People, Service Excellence, Clinical Excellence, Financial Excellence, and Growth).

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Required: High school graduate or G.E.D. equivalency. On-the-job training will be provided. Valid Pennsylvania motor vehicle license.
Preferred: Graduate from an approved Phlebotomy Technician Program or Medical Laboratory Technician Program. Previous training as a phlebotomist. Experience in a hospital or clinic setting performing phlebotomy. Phlebotomy Technician or Medical Laboratory Technician Certification (ASCP or ASPT).
