Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy certification or one year of phlebotomy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Procures specimens appropriate for the requirements of ordered tests.
• Maintains proper patient preparation and specimen collection, identification, preservation, transportation, and processing.
• Understands hospital infection control policies and antiseptic collection procedures.
• Enters patient information and test results into laboratory information system.
• Processes specimens for routine and STAT work using the laboratory information system.
• Provides phlebotomy services whenever required, including on-call as needed.
