Job summary

UPMC Altoona Regional Health Services is seeking a full-time Phlebotomist to join the team. The role involves venipuncture, specimen collection for inpatients and outpatients, and clerical tasks within the laboratory setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification from an accredited Phlebotomy program is preferred.
• Minimum 6 months phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Medical terminology knowledge and LIS experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy and specimen collection for inpatients and outpatients.
• Handle clerical duties and enter demographic data into LIS and other systems.
• Transports specimens to the appropriate lab areas.
• Maintain supplies and ensure proper safety procedures.
