BJC HealthCare System is hiring a Full-Time Lab Associate II – Phlebotomy for BJC Medical Group Primary Care at Missouri Baptist Medical Center - Suite 387C/390 (3009 N. Ballas Rd., St. Louis, MO) – Outpatient

$1000 sign-on bonus for eligible candidates!

Position Details:

  • Full-Time
  • Day Shift Hours: 8:15am - 4:45pm (Monday - Friday)
  • No weekends or holidays
  • Perform Phlebotomy, Urine collection, Epic system, Cerner system

Experience:

  • At least 2 years of phlebotomy experience
  • Experienced phlebotomist
  • Excellent patient care skills

Preferred Qualifications

Role Purpose

Perform specimen collection, handling, and clerical duties. Experienced in phlebotomy and proficient in additional tasks such as central processing, in-office phlebotomy, or inventory management.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret physician orders and order tests in the appropriate system
  • Perform phlebotomy, ensure positive patient identification and interaction, proper specimen collection, and integrity. May work in outpatient labs, physician offices, or off-campus patient service centers.
  • Sort and process specimens received by the laboratory proficiently.
  • Coordinate multiple tasks accurately, including STAT orders and workload fluctuations, prioritizing to meet turnaround times.
  • May perform registration, inventory maintenance, and other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • No experience required, but at least 2 years preferred

Preferred Requirements

  • Associate's Degree
  • 2-5 years of experience
  • < 2 years of supervisor experience

Licenses & Certifications

  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Phlebotomy certification
