Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an external phlebotomy program or 1+ year experience in specimen collection/processing.
• Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP) preferred.
• Fluent English required for patient interaction.
• Valid driver's license recommended.

Responsibilities

• Performs blood draws by venipuncture following standard protocol and ensures patient safety.
• Labels specimens with correct tube types and ensures proper labeling.
• Provides patient care for post-venipuncture reactions and escorts patients as needed.
• Performs data entry in HIS/LIS and processes specimens for testing.
• Releases ambulatory orders and receives samples in LIS; assists with outside orders.
• Troubleshoots orders and assists with missing specimens; supports nursing and lab staff as needed.
