Laboratory Services

The laboratories at IU Health offer some of the most comprehensive services in Indiana. Open 24/7, they perform more than 19 million tests annually. In addition to serving IU Health, our laboratory testing services extend to hospitals and physicians nationwide.

Position: ISR PRN Phlebotomy Float Pool

This position covers IU Health North (Carmel), Saxony (Fishers), and West (Avon) locations. Benefits include mileage reimbursement and shift hours from 12:15 pm to 6:15 pm. This role offers variety by working with multiple IU Health outpatient laboratory teams.

Responsibilities
  • Perform specimen collection via routine venipuncture
  • Enter orders and manage related clerical tasks such as answering calls and processing faxes
  • Register patients and specimens, and deliver specimens as needed
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Completion of a phlebotomy training program; laboratory experience or coursework in biological, chemical, or related sciences preferred
  • Valid Indiana driver’s license and a clean driving record for the past three years
  • Understanding of Indiana traffic laws
  • Proven computer skills
  • Excellent telephone communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks for extended periods
