Job summary

United WestLabs is hiring Phlebotomists / Lab Assistants for multiple Washington locations, including Bonney Lake and Tacoma. The role involves high‑quality phlebotomy services in clinics or patient service centers, ensuring accurate specimen collection and processing.

Must have at least 1 year of phlebotomy experience, valid WA MAP and driver's license, and insurance. Epic experience preferred; strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Perform phlebotomy procedures with professionalism, accuracy, and compassion in your assigned region.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant work environment.
  • Ensure all requisitions are complete and accurate, including patient demographics, diagnosis codes and physician information.
  • Review Medicare requirements (NCD, LMRP) and complete ABNs and MSP forms as needed.
  • Accurately collect and label specimens per lab orders.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and staff regarding lab test ordering.
  • Keep draw stations clean and stocked daily.
  • Report performance issues or concerns to the Phlebotomy Supervisor.
  • If stationed in a physician’s office, focus solely on specimen collection.

Position Summary

The Phlebotomist / Lab Assistant is responsible for performing high-quality phlebotomy services in clinics or Patient Service Centers. This role plays a key part in delivering excellent patient care and ensuring accurate specimen collection and processing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform phlebotomy procedures with professionalism, accuracy, and compassion in your assigned region.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant work environment.
  • Ensure all requisitions are complete and accurate, including patient demographics, diagnosis codes and physician information.
  • Review Medicare requirements (NCD, LMRP) and complete ABNs and MSP forms as needed.
  • Accurately collect and label specimens per lab orders.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and staff regarding lab test ordering.

Additional Duties
  • Serve as a courier or deliver supplies when needed.
  • Assist with Medicare compliance outreach.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Phlebotomy Supervisor.
Qualifications
  • Valid WA MAP
  • Valid WA Driver's License
  • Proof of valid personal motor vehicle insurance
  • At least 1 year of phlebotomy experience
  • Proficiency in phlebotomy across all age groups
  • Epic experience preferred
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and telephone etiquette.
  • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements
  • Sitting and walking: up to 6 hours/day
  • Bending, squatting, climbing: intermittent
  • Frequent use of hands for grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation
  • Lifting: frequent (up to 10 lbs), occasional (11–35 lbs)
