Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network, Inc. is seeking a dedicated phlebotomy technician to perform venipunctures, EKGs, and DNA collections across care centers. You will ensure accurate patient identification and specimen labeling, while processing specimens for transport in line with SOPs.

The role requires LIS/HIS data entry, strong communications, and focus on patient care. Training is provided, with a 90-day proficiency target and PA driver’s license requirement.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Certification in phlebotomy preferred or required.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Knowledge of blood collection techniques and safety protocols.
• Must complete training and become proficient within 90 days.
• PA driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Performs venipunctures, capillary punctures, EKG, and DNA collections at various care centers.
• Identifies patient and labels specimens accurately.
• Processes specimens for transport per SOP.
• Performs LIS and HIS data entry for blood and body fluids.
• Responds to inquiries regarding specimen requirements and testing schedules.
• Handles a heavy workload with flexibility; may work extended hours.
