A leading healthcare system is seeking a Phlebotomist I to provide specimen collection and clerical support in various healthcare settings. The role requires strong interpersonal skills and a high school diploma, with a preference for phlebotomy training. Join a diverse team committed to providing equitable care.
Working in a single assigned area, the Phlebotomist I provides specimen collection, registration and processing services to patients in the main hospital, outpatient lab draw stations, and mental health and skilled nursing facilities at off-site locations and clinics. High volume work, 50% of duties involve computer utilization with targets to meet.Provides clerical support to the Pathology Department and other duties as assigned.
Minimum High school diploma.
Preferred Phlebotomy Training or Phlebotomy Technical School.
Minimum Valid Michigan driver’s license.
Preferred ASCP certification for Phlebotomy (must obtain certification within one year of hire).
Minimum
Preferred Six months phlebotomy experience in a health care setting.
Minimum Strong interpersonal and clerical skill. Minimum of 40 wpm.
Preferred Computer skills and word processing abilities.
Familiarity with standard desktop and windows based computer system, including email, e-learning, intranet and computer navigation. Ability to use other software required to perform essential functions. Ability will be assessed during the hiring process through Human Resources.
Physical/Mental
Minimum: Sitting for long periods of time (frequently); mobile; bending, stooping and reaching above head and lifting and carrying as part of daily responsibilities (occasionally). Keyboard, repetitive tasks of typing and phone use (frequently).
