A leading healthcare provider in Grand Rapids seeks a Phlebotomist I for part-time work. The role involves specimen collection and clerical support in various healthcare settings. Candidates must possess strong interpersonal skills and a high school diploma. Preferred qualifications include phlebotomy training and prior experience.
Working in a designated area, the Phlebotomist I provides specimen collection, registration, and processing services to patients in the hospital, outpatient lab stations, mental health, and skilled nursing facilities at off-site locations and clinics. The role involves high-volume work, with 50% of duties requiring computer utilization to meet targets. Provides clerical support to the Pathology Department and performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum: High school diploma.
Preferred: Phlebotomy Training or Phlebotomy Technical School.
Minimum: Valid Michigan driver’s license.
Preferred: ASCP certification for Phlebotomy (must obtain within one year of hire).
Minimum: Six months of phlebotomy experience in a healthcare setting.
Minimum: Strong interpersonal and clerical skills; typing speed of at least 40 wpm.
Preferred: Computer skills and word processing abilities.
Familiarity with standard desktop and Windows-based systems, including email, e-learning, intranet, and navigation. Ability to use other software required for essential functions. Competency will be assessed during the hiring process.
Minimum: Sitting for long periods (frequently); mobility; bending, stooping, reaching above head; lifting and carrying occasionally; frequent keyboard and phone use.
