• Provide compassionate service to patients, physicians, and clinic staff.
• Communicate with a diverse patient population and respond to needs.
• Adhere to OSHA standards and universal precautions when handling specimens.
• Inform Supervisor of daily tasks and deviations from procedures.
• Adhere to Sagis SOPs while working at the physician’s office.
• Pickup, package, and ship specimens as needed.

Reports to: Office Manager and Technical Supervisor

LOCATION: Spring Branch, TX 78070 Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 8 am to 5 pm

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Facilitate the collection, processing, handling, and shipping of blood specimens.
• Follow policies and procedures to correctly identify the patient.
• Properly label specimens and complete the requisition form via paper or online portal.
• Follow policies and procedures to properly pack and ship specimens.
• Demonstrate customer service & compassion when interacting with patients, physicians, and clinic staff.
• Communicate with, understand, and react effectively to a diverse patient population base.
• Follow universal precautions and all OSHA standards when handling specimens.
• Strictly adhere to HIPAA guidelines
• Inform Supervisor of daily tasks, unusual problems, or deviations from established procedures.
• Adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures of Sagis while working at the physician’s office.
• Pick-up, package, and ship specimens when needed.

Qualifications:

• High-school or equivalent required
• Minimum 1 year of Phlebotomy experience required
• Excellent phlebotomy skills
• Clean driving record and valid driver license required
• Reliable mode of transportation required
• Proficient in data entry required
• Excellent customer service skills required
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite required
• Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a clinic/medical office/lab setting.
