Sagis Diagnostics is seeking an experienced Specimen Collector in a clinic/lab setting. This role requires collecting, labeling, and shipping specimens while ensuring patient safety and privacy. Strong customer service and data-entry skills are essential in a fast-paced medical office environment.

The position features daytime hours with no weekends, in-person work, and benefits such as medical coverage and paid time off. Prior UDS collection experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High-school or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1 year of specimen collector experience preferred.
• Excellent customer service skills required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Proficient in data entry.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate collection, processing, handling, and shipping of urine and oral fluid specimens.
• Identify patients accurately by following policies and procedures.
• Label specimens correctly and complete requisitions via paper or online portal.
• Package and ship specimens in accordance with SOPs.
• Demonstrate customer service and compassion when interacting with patients and staff.
• Communicate effectively with a diverse patient population.
• Follow OSHA standards and HIPAA guidelines.
• Inform supervisor of daily tasks and any deviations from procedures.
• Adhere to Sagis SOPs while working at the physician's office.
• Pickup, package, and ship specimens when needed.

Job Location: Canton, TX 75103, Position Type: Experienced, Education Level: High School, Salary Range: $17.00 - $18.00 Hourly, Travel Percentage: Up to 25%, Job Shift: Day, Job Category: Health Care, Sagis Diagnostics is a physician-led, subspecialty pathology group supported by a CAP-accredited histology lab located in the heart of Houston, Texas. Our lab is driven by a team of board-certified pathologists who are passionate about delivering cutting-edge diagnostic services. We provide the highest-quality pathology services to physicians, physician groups, ambulatory surgery centers, and hospitals across the region.

We are seeking an experienced Specimen Collector in Tyler, TX. 75701

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm. NO WEEKENDS!

Responsibilities

• Facilitate the collection, processing, handling, and shipping of urine and oral fluid specimens
• Follow policies and procedures to correctly identify the patient
• Properly label specimens and complete the requisition form via paper or online portal
• Follow policies and procedures to properly package and ship specimens
• Demonstrate customer service & compassion when interacting with patients, physicians, and clinic staff
• Communicate with, understand, and react effectively to a diverse patient population base
• Follow universal precautions and all OSHA standards when handling specimens
• Strictly adhere to HIPAA guidelines
• Inform Supervisor of daily tasks, unusual problems or deviations from established procedures
• Adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures of Sagis while working at the physician’s office
• Pick-up, package and ship the specimens when needed

Qualifications:

• High-school or equivalent required
• Minimum 1 year of specimen collector experience preferred
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Excellent customer service skills required
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite required
• Proficient in data entry required
• Urine Drug Screening (UDS) collection experience highly preferred
• Clean driving record and valid driver license required
• Reliable mode of transportation required

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities
