Overview

Phlebotomist III Site Lead - Pembroke Pines, FL - Monday to Friday 6:00AM-3:00PM (Rotational Weekends)

The PSR III – Site Lead represents the face of our company to patients at Quest Diagnostics, drawing quality blood samples and preparing specimens for lab testing while following established practices. The role involves direct patient contact, creating a trusting environment, and leading daily activities at a Patient Service Center (PSC) or In-Office Phlebotomy (IOP). The Site Lead supervises more than one PSR, provides coverage across multiple locations, and ensures timely completion of all activities. Responsibilities include coaching, mentoring, and onboarding new employees, handling high-volume and complex practice areas, and collaborating with various functions such as Sales, Laboratory Testing, IT, Billing, and Logistics. The role requires the ability to handle multiple priorities and lead teams effectively.

Pay Range: $21.26+ per hour

Salary offers depend on skills, experience, education, certifications, and organizational factors. Performance bonuses may be available.

Responsibilities:

  • Collect specimens, including drug screens and biometric tests
  • Administer oral solutions and verify test orders
  • Accurately perform data entry, manage billing, and process specimens
  • Maintain logs, ensure compliance with policies, and perform departmental duties
  • Assist with inventory, scheduling, and client communication
  • Perform Point of Care testing, mentor new staff, and support special projects
  • Ensure safety protocols and facility maintenance
  • Lead and coordinate team activities, onboarding, and office setup

Qualifications

Required Work Experience:

  • Five years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections
  • Data entry skills, flexibility for staffing needs, reliable transportation, and ability to travel

Preferred Work Experience:

  • Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred
  • Minimum 3 years in a PSC or IOP environment, customer service experience

Physical and Mental Requirements:

  • Lift objects up to 40 pounds, long periods of sitting or standing, repetitive tasks
  • Travel, extensive phone and PC use, fine dexterity, and physical mobility

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Adherence to company policies and safety standards
  • Effective communication in English, high-quality work, independent working skills
  • Excellent phlebotomy skills, customer focus, decision-making, and multitasking abilities

Education & Certifications:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
  • Phlebotomy certification (required in certain states)
