Overview

Summary: Perform various laboratory support functions including phlebotomy/venipuncture, specimen processing. Responsible for reviewing test requisitions for accuracy, complete billing information, and proper specimen/patient processing. Maintain patient logs and provide excellent customer service, including reporting lab results. Handle clerical duties, respond to requests via telephone and fax, and assist customers as needed.

Additional Responsibilities

• Verify physician orders and patient identification at draw stations.
• Assist faculty, research staff, and students with scheduling, meetings, and administrative tasks using WebEx, ZOOM, and Outlook.
• Maintain office logs, licenses, certificates, and schedules.
• Perform venipuncture and specimen preparation according to protocols.
• Follow safety protocols and PPE procedures.
• Complete mandatory training, adhere to policies, and support training of new employees.
• Provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive disposition.

Qualifications

• Experience: Up to 1 year of phlebotomy training or recent clinical/hospital experience; 5 years in phlebotomy and specimen processing.
• Education: High School Diploma required.
• Certification: CRP Certified at hire; additional certification from Medical Assistant or Laboratory Assistant Program preferred.
