Job summary

Endeavour Health is seeking a Phlebotomist II - Per Diem at Glenbrook Hospital in Glenview, IL. You will perform routine and special phlebotomy procedures and manage specimen testing workflows.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, CPR-BLS certification, and phlebotomy training experience. Weekend/holiday rotation and per diem schedule apply, with benefits and career growth opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and special phlebotomy procedures as authorized by supervision.
• Order tests in Lab/Hospital systems and document receipt of specimens.
• Collect patient specimens appropriate to age and population served.
• Collect blood samples ensuring correct volume and tubes.

Hourly Pay Range: $19.31 - $28.00 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights

• Position: Phlebotomist II - Per Diem
• Location: Glenbrook Hospital
• Full Time/Part Time: Per Diem
• Hours: Monday-Friday, 5am-9am, 12:30pm-9pm, rotating weekends and holidays

What you will do

• Perform a variety of routine and special phlebotomy procedures as authorized by the Supervisor/Manager/Director
• Responsible for ordering tests into the Laboratory and Hospital computer systems and documenting Lab receipt of specimens
• Collect patient specimens in accordance with test requirements and in a manner which is appropriate for the age and/or specific patient population served
• Collect blood samples for specific tests ensuring volume is adequate and correct tubes are utilized

What you will need

• Education: High school diploma or GED preferred or equivalent work experience
• Certification: CPR-BLS certification for the Healthcare Provider required from the AHA and PBT (ASCP) certification preferred
• Experience: Phlebotomy training experience strongly preferred
• Unique or Preferred Skills: Good communication and organization skills, moderate computer skills needed, reliable transportation to travel between sites required, strong customer service skills.
