Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Phlebotomist II - Per Diem for Glenbrook Hospital in Glenview, IL. The role involves performing routine and some specialized phlebotomy procedures, with duties including specimen collection and proper documentation in the hospital systems.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, CPR-BLS certification, and phlebotomy training experience is highly preferred. The role offers flexible hours and per diem status with premium pay and benefit options.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED preferred or equivalent work experience
• Certification: CPR-BLS certification for the Healthcare Provider required from the AHA
• ASCP certification preferred
• Experience: Phlebotomy training experience strongly preferred
• Strong communication and organization skills, moderate computer skills, reliable transportation to travel between sites, strong customer service skills

• Order tests into the Laboratory and Hospital computer systems and document Lab receipt of specimens
• Collect patient specimens in accordance with test requirements and age/population
• Collect blood samples for specific tests ensuring volume and correct tubes are used

Hourly Pay Range:

$19.71 - $28.58 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate’s expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

• Position: Phlebotomist II - Per Diem
• Location: Glenbrook Hospital
• Status: Per Diem
• Hours: Monday-Friday 0800am-430pm;1230pm-9pm; Flexible. Rotating weekends and holidays

What you will do:

• Perform a variety of routine and special phlebotomy procedures as authorized by the Supervisor/Manager/Director
• Responsible for ordering tests into the Laboratory and Hospital computer systems and documenting Lab receipt of specimens
• Collect patient specimens in accordance with test requirements and in a manner which is appropriate for the age and/or specific patient population served
• Collect blood samples for specific tests ensuring volume is adequate and correct tubes are utilized

What you will need:

• Education: High school diploma or GED preferred or equivalent work experience
• Certification: CPR-BLS certification for the Healthcare Provider required from the AHA and PBT (ASCP) certification preferred
• Experience: Phlebotomy training experience strongly preferred
• Unique or Preferred Skills: Good communication and organization skills, moderate computer skills needed, reliable transportation to travel between sites required, strong customer service skills.
