Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of Phlebotomy Training program required.
  • Completion of nationally recognized certification as a Phlebotomy Technician required.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills required.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes the facility mission, vision and values by effectively communicating them to others.
  • Able to perform venous, arterial, capillary draws on adult and pediatric/neonatal patients as per procedure and without supervision.
  • Identifies patients and labels all tubes, as per policy, without mislabeling
  • Draws the correct amount and in the correct tubes/preserves specimens as needed to minimize redraws
  • Draws and delivers blood to the lab in a timely manner
  • Follows through on collections that have been re-scheduled
  • Responds to patient codes as necessary.
